Agribusiness majors are prepared for professional careers in agribusiness marketing, management, and finance.
The need for qualified professionals in the field of mental health and social services continues to grow. In response to these demands, the Applied Behavioral Health program at Andrew College is designed to expose students to the breadth of mental health issues and services, with a special emphasis toward behavioral health and social work. The program trains students in different aspects of applied behavioral health, such as applied behavioral health principles, theory and clinical skills, cultural diversity, social problems, and lifespan development.
Studio art classes provide students hands-on experience with traditional methods and mediums as well as contemporary processes and digital media. Students are afforded the opportunity to develop their technical and conceptual skills in the creation of artwork as well as learning to critically analyze what makes some works more successful than others in frequent group critiques and individual discussions about artwork.
Athletic training is a growing allied health profession dealing with the prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation of injuries to the physically active.
The Biology program is designed to prepare students for further study in the sciences by offering foundational coursework in biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics. In addition to the general core curriculum, students in this program take additional coursework in the sciences and/or mathematics.
The modern business world changes rapidly, with new opportunities and challenges appearing almost daily. With an emphasis in small business development, the new Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration at Andrew College is designed to provide you with the tools to prepare you to meet the demands of the modern business world, whether you begin your career working at a large corporation, a small business or even your own business.
The Associates Degree program is designed to provide students with the general knowledge they need to be successful in a number of business areas. Emphasizing coursework fundamental to understanding business operations, the program provides you with a background in economics, accounting, computer applications and business law.
The Bachelors Degree program builds upon that foundational background of the Associates Degree program.
Quality cancer data is central to the nation’s fight against this disease, and cancer registrars are the first link in capturing that data. The online Cancer Registry Management certificate program at Andrew College is designed to provide the educational background you need to work and obtain certification in this growing field.
The National Cancer Registrars Association requires that a candidate sitting for the CTR exam must hold at least an Associate Degree. The Associate Degree in Cancer Registry Management at Andrew College provides a well-rounded education in both core classes and those that are cancer registry specific.
Students who already have an Associate Degree (or higher) are eligible for the Certificate Program, providing the prerequisites have been met. The certificate program at Andrew College provides the necessary courses required to be eligible to take the certification exam.
The concentration in Chemistry is designed to prepare students for further study in the sciences by offering foundational coursework in biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics. In addition to core curriculum requirements, students in the Chemistry program will complete Organic Chemistry l and ll, and either General Biology l and ll, Principles of Physics l and ll, or Calculus l and ll.
The Associate in Communication is a broad-based program designed to equip students with a solid foundation in both oral and written communication. In addition to the completion of core courses and Speech, Communication students take additional academic opportunities in specialty areas such as art, theatre, literature and humanities. Students may also take advantage of the opportunity to gain real world experience through participation in on-campus publications as well as the Andrew College Digital Network (ACDN).
The Criminal Justice program is designed to prepare students for careers in law enforcement, social work and the social sciences. In additional to the core curriculum, students take additional coursework designed to introduce them to the law and the court system, ethics, criminal procedures and the history and philosophy of law enforcement.
An Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice is typically the entry-level requirement for local law enforcement positions; however, many of our graduates choose to pursue their Bachelor’s degree after graduation from Andrew College.
The Education concentration is designed to offer the introductory coursework necessary for those students wishing to pursue a career in K-12 education. The program explores the concepts of teaching and learning, including not only pedagogy but also some of the challenges facing education today including legal decisions and addressing the needs of a variety of learners. In addition to the core curriculum, Education students take Speech as well as several introductory education courses and Introduction to Computer Applications.
The demand for qualified engineers continues to rise. The Associate Degree in Engineering at Andrew College is designed to provide students with the foundational coursework required to complete their Bachelor’s Degree in one of a number of engineering fields such as mechanical, electrical and civil engineering.
The Forestry program at Andrew is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), a regional body for the accreditation of degree-granting higher education institutions in the Southern States.
The Health Sciences concentration is designed to prepare students for further study in a variety of health-related fields. Emphasis is placed upon developing a working knowledge of the body and things that may have an effect upon it. In addition to completing core curriculum coursework, students in the Health Sciences concentration will take Human Anatomy and Physiology I and II, Microbiology as well as two additional science or social sciences courses.
Emphasizing the development of research, writing and critical thinking skills, History has long been a foundational course of study within the liberal arts. In addition to the core curriculum, students seeking to complete the History concentration will complete additional US and World History survey courses as well as at least one course in either Macro or Micro Economics.
Students who pursue History as a major will often seek to choose career paths in areas such as law, international studies, history and education.
The most flexible Associate program at Andrew College, the Liberal Arts program is designed for the generalist who wants a wide-ranging education. The program offers students exposure to a broad array of choices that encompass the liberal arts. In addition to the required core courses as a Speech course, Liberal Arts majors are free to pursue additional coursework in almost any academic area.
The Associate in Literature emphasizes coursework that helps to develop both the writing and critical thinking skills necessary for many career paths, including; law, education, journalism, business and the ministry. In addition to core academic coursework, Literature students are required to complete Speech, two additional literature courses and a number of fine arts, religion or humanities courses.
Courses within the program expose students to a number of academic areas that not only provide an opportunity to read and discuss great literature, but also provide an important framework that helps students critically examine and evaluate information in context.
The concentration in Mathematics is designed to prepare students for further study in a variety of math-related fields. In addition to core curriculum requirements, Mathematics students must complete Introduction to Computer Applications, Introduction to Statistics, Calculus and Analytic Geometry I and II as well as additional lab science courses.
The goal of the music department at Andrew College is to provide a nurturing, yet challenging, environment for music students to develop their skill. The music curriculum of our degree program mirrors that of the University System of Georgia, preparing you to transfer to a four-year institution to complete your undergraduate study. Additionally, with an average music class size of six to eight students, you will receive personalized attention tailored to your specific needs.
Andrew College offers an Associate Degree in Nursing with students entering in the fall after prerequisites are fulfilled.
The concentration in Physics is designed to prepare students for further study in the physical sciences by offering foundational coursework in chemistry, physics and mathematics. In addition to the core curriculum, students in Physics will complete Introduction to Computer Applications, General Chemistry I and II, Calculus and Analytic Geometry I and II as well as an additional science course.
Respiratory Therapists perform diagnostic procedures such as pulmonary function studies and arterial blood gas analysis, and are involved in rehabilitation of the patient with cardiopulmonary abnormalities. Students will learn diagnostic and therapeutic procedures applicable to pulmonary care.
The Associate of Science degree program in Sustainable Agriculture equips students with the necessary foundation to complete an agricultural bachelor’s degree program or move directly into career paths in sustainable agriculture.
The Theatre Program at Andrew College works to be both academically challenging and artistically rewarding. Andrew College offers a variety of Allied Health programs, all of which provide the community with skilled healthcare professionals. The Division of Allied Health offers associate degree programs as well as a certificate program and courses which prepare students for careers, career upgrade and for transfer to four-year colleges and universities.
The Fine Arts Division offers the Associate of Arts degree with a concentration in Visual Art OR Theatre, as well as the Associate of Music.
