Illumination Prose Prize

One work of prose submitted as either creative nonfiction or fiction of 5,000 words or less will be awarded $100 and published in the print journal.

The Omari Hunter Prize

This memorial prize honors Andrew College student and baseball player, Omari Hunter. We will award $50 and publication to one Andrew College student for submission in any of the categories of unpublished art, creative nonfiction, fiction, or poetry. Students must be currently enrolled for the Spring 2022 semester.

Submission Guidelines

We are currently accepting submissions of unpublished art, creative nonfiction, fiction, and poetry for the 2022 issue of Spire Light: A Journal of Creative Expression. Submissions are limited to three poems, two works of art, and prose up to 5,000 words.

Simultaneous submissions are accepted, but please let us know if your work is accepted elsewhere.

Please email your submission to SpireLightSubmissions@andrewcollege.edu by midnight, March 15, 2022.

In your email, include your name, a short contributor’s bio, and the title of the work. Please state the genre of your piece in the subject line.

There is no fee to submit, and all contributors residing in the U.S. will receive a print copy of the journal. International contributors will receive a PDF file.
