The Education concentration is designed to offer the introductory coursework necessary for those students wishing to pursue a career in K-12 education. The program explores the concepts of teaching and learning, including not only pedagogy but also some of the challenges facing education today, including legal decisions and addressing the needs of a variety of learners. In addition to the core curriculum, Education students take Speech as well as several introductory education courses and Introduction to Computer Applications.

An emphasis in our Education program is that classroom observation is a part of several courses within the curriculum.  Students are paired with teachers at area schools.
