First Time Entering Students
A First-Time Entering Student is defined as a student who:
- Is completing, or has earned a high school diploma from an accredited high school, or has successfully completed a General Educational Development (GED) program
- May have participated in dual enrollment or early college programs while in high school
- Has not yet enrolled as a degree-seeking student at any college or university following high school graduation
To be considered for admission, First-Time Entering Students must:
- Complete the First-Time Student application for admission
- Submit a preliminary (in-progress) high school transcript reflecting coursework through the latest completed semester (typically through at least the 11th grade), or a transcript showing successful completion of a GED program
- Present a minimum 2.3 GPA on a 4.0 scale
Andrew College utilizes an individualized, holistic review process. Admission is not automatic, and students who do not meet the preferred GPA may still be considered based on additional academic factors.
High School Transcript Requirements
Applicants who are currently completing high school must submit a preliminary (in-progress) transcript reflecting coursework through the latest completed semester (e.g., sixth semester/junior year).
Andrew College accepts unofficial (self-reported) transcripts for admission review.
A final official high school transcript showing proof of graduation and date of graduation is required prior to enrollment.
Dual Enrollment / College Transcript Information
Students who completed dual enrollment coursework while in high school:
- Are not required to submit official college transcripts at the time of application or for an admission decision
- Must submit official transcripts from all postsecondary institutions after high school graduation, including grades for dual enrollment coursework
Dual enrollment coursework will be evaluated for transfer credit upon receipt of official transcripts from the awarding institution.
Students who only completed college coursework while in high school are still considered first-time entering students for admission purposes.
Test Scores (Optional but Considered)
SAT or ACT scores are not required for admission. However, test scores may be considered as part of the holistic admissions review process and may strengthen a student’s application.
Students who do not meet the preferred 2.3 GPA may be considered for admission based on additional academic indicators, including, but not limited to:
- ACT composite score of 18 or higher, or
- SAT equivalent score of 860
Test scores may also be used for scholarship consideration and course placement.
