Interlibrary Loan (ILL)
Pitts Library participates in an Interlibrary Loan (ILL) system which allows us to borrow books and articles from other libraries around the world. However, this process can take up to two weeks. Start searching early in the semester and talk with the librarians if you think that you will need to use ILL in order to get the materials in a timely manner.
Follow these steps:
See if Pitts Library has what you need.
AndyCat: Check to see if the book is here or available as an ebook.
GALILEO: Check to see if the journal or publication needed is here.
If you cannot find the information after using these two sources, check
with the librarian. If the exact material or similar material cannot be
found in-house, Interlibrary loan may be the answer.
Gather citation information.
Books: Locate the title, author and date of publication. If you can find
the OCLC #, that is helpful.
Journal Articles: Locate the title of the publication, title and author of
the article, volume, issue, date and page number of the article.
Request the material.
Fill out this Interlibrary Loan Request Form.
Be sure to include contact information of name, telephone number and
email address so that we can get back to you regarding your request.
