The Theta Lambda Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa enters the 2019-2020 school upholding the ideals of Phi Theta Kappa – Wisdom, Aspiration and Purity – as it has through the years with programming and projects.

Officers and students stayed busy in Fall 2018 and Spring 2019. The Fall semester saw Phi Theta Kappa help in the annual Trick or Read, when all the Randolph County Elementary School and the Pataula Charter Academy first graders came to the campus for a book reading in Pitts Library and trick or treating around campus. The chapter participated in the annual Alumni Homecoming Parade and other Homecoming activities. President Megan Carlson and Vice President Maris Guzman were recognized in Atlanta at All-Georgia Academic Team Awards Luncheon.

Seminar Day 2019, Andrew College’s 42nd, featured Karin Vonk, co-owner and marketing director of Richland Distilling Company, speak about PTK’s annual Honors-in-Action topic, “Transformations: Acknowledging, Assessing, and Achieving Change.” Students attended seminars led by Andrew College faculty and staff, covering topics from generational psychology to jazz music. Theta Lambda held its Spring Induction ceremony in the Liddie Murphy Theatre with Professor Amanda Knight as the keynote speaker. The officer installation ceremony took place on the square in Cuthbert, as part of Andrew College’s effort to increase its presence downtown.
