CUTHBERT, GA. – Andrew College’s servant leadership program, AndrewServes, helped with the Feeding the Valley Food Bank’s Mobile Pantry program on Sept. 19 in Cuthbert. With the help of other area volunteers, students helped organize and pack donated food into grocery bags which were delivered to people across Randolph County. Over 600 families receive canned goods, frozen meat, produce and dairy each month from this effort. Feeding the Valley staff said the Randolph County mobile food pantry site is one of their largest.
Andrew College sophomore Shawn Host from Beverly Hills, FL, expressed his appreciation for the learning opportunity by saying, “this is an experience that you can’t find in a classroom.”
The AndrewServes Servant Leadership Program was formed in 2000 to provide community service opportunities for students, staff and faculty. It is directed by Malanie Burnett, a native of Blakely, GA.
