What sets Andrew apart from other colleges and universities?

You will be hard pressed to find a college the size of Andrew that offers such diversity. Students are amazed when they arrive on campus and discover the multitude of opportunities and experiences that are available. Andrew students have the chance to broaden their views by participating in camping trips, chess tournaments, athletic competitions, leadership seminars, and so much more.

Often the first two years of college can leave students feeling like just another statistic. Upon your arrival at Andrew, you will have an immediate impact on campus life. The College’s welcoming environment will allow you to feel comfortable being yourself and expressing your opinions. You will have more opportunities to discover your full potential in an environment that is sensitive to your needs.

The Andrew campus has been described as “a small, close-knit community working and learning together.” There is a sense of unity on our campus that you will not find at most large four-year institutions. Faculty and staff know students by their first names and take interest in their lives both inside and outside of the classroom. Andrew provides students with every opportunity to grow intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually.

Andrew is related to The United Methodist Church. How will this impact my time on campus?

Christian tolerance and an underlying belief in the worth and dignity of all people are at the heart of the educational process at Andrew. The student body at Andrew is made up of a wide variety of different individuals, from different backgrounds, with different religious beliefs. Andrew offers students the opportunity to worship together, share their lives in meaningful ways, and, at times, wrestle with some of life’s most difficult questions.

Andrew students are not required to attend chapel or any other religious functions or activities. These opportunities are available for those students who desire to strengthen their faith and more fully understand their place of service in God’s world.

What are the advantages of attending a two-year college, as opposed to a four-year?

The first two years of college are often recognized as the most critical. Andrew will provide you with a “better beginning” to college life while you complete your course classes.

Attending a two-year college allows students to become involved as soon as they arrive on campus. At many four-year institutions, freshmen and sophomores often wait behind juniors and seniors to assume leading roles on campus. Freshmen at Andrew shine on the athletic fields, during theatre performances, and are leaders in many campus organizations.

What can I expect from a classroom setting at Andrew?

Contributing to class discussions and expressing yourself is less intimidating in a classroom of 14 people, as opposed to a class of 200 people. With a student to faculty ratio of 14 to 1, classes at Andrew are relaxed and comfortable. Students receive individual attention from professors who care about their success, both in and out of the classroom.

You can expect faculty members to push you to achieve more than you thought possible. Our friendly and dedicated professors are committed to helping each student discover his or her full potential.

Aren’t private schools really expensive? How can I possibly afford to attend?

The costs associated with attending a private college have actually declined in recent years. With a wide variety of scholarships, grants, work-study programs, and loans, we are confident that we can give you the help you need to make Andrew a reality for you. Over 90 percent of our students receive some type of Financial Aid, which helps make it easier for them to afford a college education.
