From 1957 to 1998, Sarah Anne Staples was a Professor of Biological Sciences at Andrew College. She taught biology, vertebrate
zoology, microbiology and anatomy and physiology to thousands of Andrew College students. Many students today attribute their career choice as well as their belief in their self-worth to the influence of Sarah Anne Staples.
Everyone has a special story about "Sarah Anne." She was thoughtful and considerate of every person she met. She also stated her opinion. She lived her life on her own terms of independence, service, and humility.
The former Warren Bush Hall is currently under renovation to become a state-of-the-art education facility. It will house an advanced laboratory for our nursing program, as well as much needed classroom, conference, and faculty office space.
We are challenging our alumni, friends, and all who knew Sarah Anne with this campaign in support of renaming this building Staples Hall upon its completion. We can think of no greater tribute for this beloved teacher and mentor than naming our revitalized education building in her honor. With your generous contribution, we will be one step closer to achieving this goal!
