We are thrilled to announce that Andrew College has been selected as one of just ten stops across the state to host the Georgia Council for the Arts’ State Art Collection Exhibit. This traveling exhibit showcases a dynamic range of contemporary works by Georgia artists, highlighting the richness and diversity of the state’s creative talent. As part of the exclusive State Art Collection Tour, we’re honored to bring this inspiring collection to our campus and share it with our students, faculty, and the greater Cuthbert community. As part of our Georgia State Art Exhibit, we are proud to feature a curated selection from the Georgia State Art Collection that celebrates the vibrant artistic heritage of our state. The exhibition, titled Reimagine: Contemporary Georgia Artists, showcases a diverse array of media including painting, fiber art, mixed media, printmaking, and photography. Works by artists such as Nellie Mae Rowe, John T. Riddle Jr., and Tommye McClure Scanlin reflect Georgia’s deep-rooted traditions in visual storytelling, craftsmanship, and cultural expression. Each piece, many created between the 1970s and 1990s, speaks to both the unique artistic identities of their makers and the broader historical and social context of Georgia’s evolving communities.
To further enrich the experience for educators and students, a comprehensive Teacher Resource Guide and a companion image set have been developed in partnership with the Georgia Council for the Arts. These materials offer creative engagement strategies across multiple subjects—including social studies, science, language arts, and math—through hands-on gallery activities, discussion prompts, and cross-curricular connections. Whether exploring Appalachian weaving patterns or interpreting visual narratives through a Southern Gothic lens, these resources support deep, interdisciplinary learning rooted in Georgia’s artistic legacy.
Andrew College is sponsoring both the VIP Reception and the Closing Reception, helping us celebrate our community in style.
Family Adams Pharmacy is making our Grand Opening possible with their sponsorship, ensuring a memorable kickoff.
We’re also grateful to the Randolph County Library for sponsoring the Kids’ Art Activity on September 20th, bringing creativity and fun to our youngest guests.
Their contributions make this event truly special!
