Dr. Daniel Kolan is currently an Assistant Professor of Music at Andrew College. Prior to Andrew College, Dr. Kolan earned his Doctor of Musical Arts from The University of Alabama, Mastersof Music from University of Cincinnati's College Conservatory of Music and Bachelor of Music from Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music. As an orchestral musician Dan has performed extensively with the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra, Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, Richmond (IN) Symphony Orchestra, Kentucky Symphony Orchestra, Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra and with members of the Cincinnati and Columbus (OH) Symphony Orchestras in the touring production of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses. As a jazz and commercial musician, Dan has been fortunate to have shared the stage with such musicians as Joe Zawinul, Wess "Warmdaddy" Anderson, Marcus Roberts, Rodney Whitaker, Aaron Diehl, and many other jazz luminaries. Most recently Dan has been afforded the opportunity to tour with the Grammy Award winning and Hall of Fame Artists The Temptations, The Four Tops and The O'Jays. Dan is heavily indebted to his past and current teachers and mentors: Dr. Jonathan Whitaker, Timothy Anderson and Peter Ellefson.
