Rudy Roediger has just been named as the new men’s soccer coach at Andrew College. He previously served as an assistant coach at Bethany College (W.Va.), Bluefield College (Va.), and most recently at Montreat College (N.C.). Roediger brings over 20 years of soccer coaching, playing, refereeing and administrative experience within the NAIA, NCAA, NCCAA and ECAC to the Andrew Soccer program.
Roediger through his recruiting efforts at Bluefield College (Va.) and Montreat College (N.C.) was instrumental in immediate transformations in their soccer programs. In 2012, Roediger helped direct Bluefield to be the third most improved wins/loss women's team in the NAIA with a 9-10-1 mark with a +6.5 improvement from the season before when the Rams went 2-16-1. Roediger joined Montreat in 2013 where his recruitment and organization helped guide the Cavaliers to a +4 wins/loss improvement and their first Appalachian Athletic Conference runner-up since 2006.
Roediger has coached 21 collegiate All-Conference honorees that including (3) First Team, (3) Second Team, (1) Third Team and (1) Honorable Mention in addition to 14 Academic All-Conference honors and an additional seven national academic award winners.
A three-time Ohio High School Athletic Association District Champion, Roediger played collegiate soccer at both Indiana Wesleyan (1999) and Shawnee State (2001-2002). While in Marion, Ind., Roediger helped the Wildcats to a Mid-Central College Conference Tournament Championship, NAIA Regional Championship Final and a fourth place finish at the NCCAA National Championships. He then went on to play every match for SSU earning All-American Mideast Conference honors as he led the team in game winning goals and finishing third in total points during his two seasons.
