Former Tiger Kevin McCoy drafted by the Seattle Mariners
Kevin McCoy was recently selected in the Major League Baseball Draft by the Seattle Mariners in the 24thround (717thpick). McCoy is a hard throwing right handed pitcher that is originally from Gainesville, FL (Gainesville High School). Kevin pitched for Andrew College during his freshman season and was named a Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association Second Team All-Region XVII performer after finishing his season with 7 wins and 4 losses, 3.80 ERA, 89.2 innings pitched, striking out 84 batters, walking only 27, and holding opponents to a .230 batting average against. Kevin finished up his playing career at Kennesaw State University where he excelled out of the bullpen as a senior making 14 appearances, 20.1 innings pitched, striking out 23 batters, allowing just 19 hits, and holding opponents to a .250 batting average against.
