2008 Softball Signees

Ashley Phillips, Armuchee High School

One of Armuchee’s leading hitters this year with a .377 batting average, Ashley brings a toughness to the Lady Tigers at a critical position. A no fear 3rd baseman, she will be counted on the fill a big hole for the Lady Tigers next year.

 

Tempa Fuller, Taylor County High School

A Second Team All-Region outfielder for Region 2A, Tempa hit .200 this past season with 12 RBI, 13 Runs, and 6 SB’s. Fuller was awarded the Scholar Athlete Wreath at Taylor County for the past two years, and was 1 of 2 Pitts Scholar Award winners from Andrew College. She will play outfield for the Lady Tigers next year.

Ashley Ledford, Wilcox County High School

Ashley was named Region 2-A Pitcher of the Year in her junior and senior years, while hitting .284 with 18 RBI. Also a basketball starter at Wilcox, Ashley will play infield and pitch for the Lady Tigers next year.

Annie Hicks, Norcross High School

Annie comes as a highly toughted 1st baseman, who has played in the highest classification in the Georgia High School Association. Her parents are Steve and Nanci Hicks and her high school coach is Michele Bowden. Annie batted .256 with 17 RBI’s and a team leading 16 Base on Balls last year. She is expected to do big things for Andrew College next year.

 

Amanda Pollock, Crisp County High School

One of the best ever to come out of Crisp County High School, Amanda has been the Region 1-AAA Player of the Year for the past two seasons. She will pitch and play infield for the Lady Tigers.

 

Brittany Ellington, Providence Christian Academy

A 1st Team All Gwinnett County performer her 11th & 12th grade years, Brittany brings versatility and athleticism to the Lady Tigers. She led Providence Christian to the state sectionals the past two years, and was one win away from the Final 8, in 2006. She will play middle infield for the Lady Tigers.

 

Kayla Lumley, Trinity Christian High School

The starting left fielder for the back-to-back GISA AA State Champions, Kayla brings a championship attitude and outstanding defensive skills to Andrew. She hit .288 with 14 runs and 12 RBI, along with a 1.000% fielding percentage. Kayla will play outfield and catch for the Lady Tigers next year.

 

Mary Lonberg, Lamar County High School

An All-Region 5AA player the past two years, Mary hit .411 with 6 doubles, a homer, and knocked in 20 runs in 28 games. She was the team MVP for the past two seasons. She will play infield, with some time behind the plate, for the Lady Tigers next year.


Krista Posey, Mary Persons High School

Krista carried the bulk of the pitching load for Mary Persons High last year. With a line of 104 IP, 32 BB, 55 K’s, and ERA 4.03, she has a lot of upside. An excellent student, Krista will be counted on to provide depth to the pitching staff.
