2009 Softball Signees
Keela Griffin, Gainesville High School

Keela scorched the competition her senior year, hitting .466, making 1st Team All-Region, and being selected for the Georgia Dugout Club’s North All-Star Team. A standout basketball player for the Lady Red Elephants, also, Keela will play middle infield for the Lady Tigers next year.

Katie Jo played Varsity Softball for 4 years, and Varsity Basketball for 1 year. An All-Area pick her senior year, Katie Jo hit .340 as a senior, while catching all 37 games. Katie Jo will
play 2nd base for the Lady Tigers next year.
Keri Hathcock, Worth County High School

A four-year starter for Worth County High, Keri was the #1 pitcher since her freshman year. As a Senior, Keri led Worth County to the Elite 8, and was named 1st Team All-Area, as well as 2nd Team All-Region, both her Junior and Senior years. She pitched 3 no-hitters and the 1st perfect game in school history during her career. She will pitch for the Lady Tigers.
Megan Gentry, Whitewater High School

A four year varsity letter winner, Megan shared playing time as catcher and outfielder for the highly successful Whitewater High School Softball Program, that finished the last three seasons with two fifth place finishes and one second place finish in the AAAA State Softball Division. Megan was also the starting catcher for the “Georgia Mustang Gold” travel ball team based out of Griffin who competed in the ASA Nationals in 2006 and 2007. Megan will catch for the Lady Tigers next season.
Monica Day, Echols County High School

A four year starter for the Echols County Lady Cats softball team, Monica was named All region in Softball, Basketball, and Cross Country. In addition to being MVP of her cross country team, Monica is a Scholar Athlete Award winner, and hit .425 her senior season. Monica will play shortstop for the Lady Tigers next year.
Chantel Gautney, Sprayberry High School

A four year starter and 2008 All-Region 6-AAAAA selection, Chantel was the 2006 Most Valuable Defensive Player in both Softball and Lacrosse. Chantel finished her high career with a .349 batting average. Chantel will play 3rd base for Lady Tigers.
Paige Pfalzgraff, Early County High School

Paige was a First Team All-Region pick her Junior and Senior seasons. In addition to starting in the circle for most of the season, Paige hit .500 for the season, with 40 hits and 33 RBI. She will be counted on to hit in the middle of the lineup for the Lady Tigers next year, and could provide some pitching depth for the 2009 season.

Amy Jones, Bowdon High School

A four year varsity letterman, Amy was the starting 3rd baseman for the Bowdon Red Devils that finished 3rd in the GHSA Class A State Tournament. Her senior year, she earned the Will to Win Award from the coaching staff, by bouncing back from a mid-season broken hand and finishing with a .435 batting average. Amy will play outfield for the Lady Tigers.
Megan Mays, Mary Persons High School

Megan joins fellow Mary Persons High School grad Krista Posey at Andrew College next year. Megan is an outstanding soccer player, and will compete during the fall for the Lady Tiger Soccer team. Following the completion of the soccer season, Megan will join the Lady Tigers in late October.
Shelby Gale, Seminole County High School

Capping an outstanding high school career, by hitting .524 as a Senior, Shelby was named both 1st Team All-Region and Region Offensive Player of the Year in her Junior and Senior seasons. Sporting a dependable glove, and great feet, Shelby will play 1st base for the Lady Tigers next season.
Danyelle Eidson, Baconton Charter School

A 3-year starter for the Baconton Blazers, Danyelle was chosen 1st Team All-Region her Jr. & Senior seasons. Danyelle batted .385 her senior season, won 7 games on the mound, and finished the year as the team’s starting catcher. Danyelle will catch for the Lady Tigers next year.
Kristyn Horlock, Ware County High School

Kristyn was a four-year starter for Ware County and led her high school team in stolen bases. A second team All-Region 3-AAAA pick, Kristyn will play infield for the Lady Tigers next year.
