A New Era at Andrew College

2008 marks a new era at Andrew College Soccer.  With the hiring of the new head men’s and women’s coach Michael Husbands.  Coach Husbands in his first year as collegiate head coach, but soccer nor coaching is a new thing to Husbands.  Playing for 20 years and coaching for 5, Husbands will bring in a youthful zest to the programs.  In 2005 after graduating from Div II Wingate University (Wingate, NC) Husbands stopped playing competitive soccer and started on his new passion, coaching.

Husbands knows that the history of soccer at Andrew College is not a small thing.  He will bring competitive soccer back to Andrew by creating stability within the program, and maintaining highly motivated players.

“My goal is to take high school seniors and give them the experience they need to succeed at a 4-year program.  Here at Andrew they will play their first 2 years, as opposed to riding the bench, being red-shirted, or just sitting; waiting for their turn”  After the 2 years of play at Andrew the players then move on to play at their 4-year school of choice.

Men's and Women's Soccer

Soccer is a tradition at Andrew College. The Tigers compete with two-year schools, as well as with four-year schools. Andrew earned its reputation as a strong soccer school by consistently defeating much larger institutions on its way to numerous regional and state championships.
