Andrew soccer places 12 on All-Region teams
The 2004 soccer season was one of great success for
Andrew
College
’s men’s and women’s programs. While the Lady Tigers traveled deep into the post season yet again, the men’s team came up just one goal short of winning the region title. In addition to these team accomplishments, 12 Andrew players were named to either the All-Region 1st or 2nd Team.
Lady Tigers named to All-Region teams include:
- 1st Team - Sheila McLaughlin, Maria Menendez
- 2nd Team - Kathryn Atwater, Krystin Mills, Andrea Jacobs, Miranda Uber, Cydney Schultz
Fighting Tigers named to All-Region teams include:
- 1st Team - Zaheer Bell, Joe Nasco
- 2nd Team - Brett Driver, Igor Santos, Darryl Johnson
“Soccer is a rich tradition at Andrew, and I am proud of both the men’s and women’s teams,” Bart Sasnett, Andrew’s first-year Head Soccer Coach, said. “The entire campus is thrilled that 12 players were named to All-Region teams. I believe it is a direct reflection of the type of talented and dedicated student athletes that we have on our campus.”
All-Region selections were voted upon by the head coaches of each team in the region. Players are evaluated by their statistics, talent, and sportsmanship.
