Andrew to host Math/Science Competition
The Andrew College Mathematics/Science Competition is open to all 9th through 12th graders at will take place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, January 28. All high schools within a 90-mile radius of Cuthbert were invited to participate. Students must choose to participate in either the mathematics portion or the science portion of the competition.
Each student will take a 90-minute written exam. The concepts covered in the area of mathematics include: pre-algebra through calculus. The science exam covers questions in the areas of biology, physical science, and chemistry. A school may compete as a team if at least four students compete in the same. A school may also have more than one team. The top four scores from a school will constitute a team.
Awards to be given at the competition include:
- Top three scorers for each grade level in science and mathematics
- Overall top scorers in mathematics and science
- Top three school teams in mathematics and science.
