Larry Belt Memorial Piano Recital

The community is invited to attend the annual Larry Belt Memorial Piano Recital in The Jones Chapel on the Andrew campus Sunday, April 3 at 3 p.m. The late Larry L. Belt served Andrew College from 1964 to 1981 as professor of music. Under his leadership and direction, the Choral Music Program at Andrew gained international recognition. Students from his piano studio were accepted to study at the finest music schools in the nation. This annual concert is an expression of appreciation for his contributions to Andrew and his commitment to excellence.

Dr. Richard Seiler, Associate Professor in the Division of Music in the School of Visual and Performing Arts at the University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM), will be the recitalist for this year’s performance. Seiler is the ULM Keyboard Chair and teaches piano, piano literature, organ, harpsichord, and music theory. He holds performance degrees from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (BM), Illinois State University (MM), and Louisiana State University (DMA). Seiler has performed extensively as a soloist, accompanist, and chamber musician throughout the southeastern United States and has been a featured soloist with orchestras in North Carolina , Illinois , and Louisiana . He is a National Patron of Delta Omicron and is a member of Pi Kappa Lambda, American Guild of Organists, and Music Teachers National Association. 

Seiler is a member of The Louisiana Trio, which was awarded a $20,000 Challenge America grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, through the Louisiana Division of the Arts. He recently completed a compact disc recording of music for horn and piano, which is available on Centaur Records. Seiler also serves as organist/choirmaster at Grace Episcopal Church in Monroe .
