Andrew College baseball team helps underprivileged families during the holidays

The Tigers baseball team adopted three families this past Thanksgiving in the Cuthbert community.  The players split up into three teams and bought groceries for underprivileged families to help out during the Thanksgiving season.

Coach Scot Hemmings said,” I am trying to teach these young men about the importance of helping others out.  I tried to let our players see that everyone is not as fortunate as they are.  This brought a lot of joy and happiness to our local families and gave each player self-satisfaction in helping others through trying times.”

The Tiger baseball program will continue to do community work in an attempt to help less fortunate families throughout the Cuthbert area.  “This is a great group of guys who are willing to go the extra mile in everything they do.  It is evident that we have a first class group of guys on the field, in the community, and in the classroom.  We had an overall team GPA of 3.1 this fall which speaks volumes about the character on our team.”

The Andrew College baseball team will begin their spring season on January 29 @ 1:00 against Okaloosa Walton Community College.
