Parent Information Workshops

Andrew College has a unique approach to orientation. All parents are encouraged to attend an “InSpire Day,” where students receive PRIORITY REGISTRATION while their parents are introduced to college life from the “adult perspective.”

As freshmen are meeting faculty advisors and registering for classes, parents learn about parenting styles. Discover if you are a “Helicopter, Lawnmower, or Blackhawk?” — in fun-filled and informative workshops.  Parents will meet the President of Andrew College and learn about the rich heritage of our institution and participate in informative sessions about campus technology, financial aid, residence life, and academics at Andrew. Lunch in Turner Dining Hall is provided for students and parents before parents begin the entertaining interactive program, “Letting Go of Your Child and Connecting with Your Young Adult.”

Here are some of the comments from our Andrew parents,

“I knew I was a ‘Helicopter parent,” but now I understand how to help my daughter transition to college life without attempting to “do it all for her.”

“The Student Life staff make the parent information workshops fun and entertaining … I’m more excited about my kids going to college now than they are!”

“I was really worried about sending my daughter off to College, but now I feel so much better knowing that she’s in a place where people care!”
