Dr. Susan Tusing

Dr. Tusing received the Bachelor of Music from Arkansas State University, the Master of Music from the University of Missouri at Kansas City Conservatory of Music, and the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Louisiana State University, all in piano performance. While at LSU she was an Alumni Association Doctoral Fellow and served on the faculty of the LSU Music Academy. Dr. Tusing taught on the music faculties of the State University of New York (SUNY) at Plattsburgh and Texas A and M University at Kingsville before joining the Andrew College music faculty in January 1999. 

Dr. Tusing is active as a solo and collaborative pianist.  She is frequently in demand as an adjudicator for local, state, and regional piano events and has presented workshops for the Arkansas State Music Teachers Association and Georgia Music Teachers Association conventions and for the National Piano Teachers Institute in Dallas, Texas.  Dr. Tusing holds MTNA Professional Certification and has served as Second Vice President of ASMTA and College Faculty Chair for GMTA; she serves currently as Theory Chair for the GMTA In-State Spring Auditions.  Dr. Tusing has written articles for Georgia Music News and the GMTA Newsletter and, while living in Arkansas, authored a series of music theory review workbooks (which continue to be used) for the ASMTA state piano auditions.
