Susan Tusing received the Bachelor of Music from Arkansas State University, the Master of Music from the University of Missouri at Kansas City Conservatory
of Music, and the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Louisiana State University, all in piano performance. While at LSU she was an Alumni Association Doctoral Fellow and served on the faculty of the LSU Music Academy. Dr. Tusing taught on the music faculties of the State University of
New York (SUNY) at Plattsburgh and Texas A and M University at Kingsville prior to joining the Andrew College music faculty in January 1999.
Dr. Tusing is active as a solo and collaborative pianist in the region and has performed in concerts throughout the Eastern, Southern, and Midwestern United States. She serves frequently as an adjudicator for local, state, and regional piano events, has published pedagogy articles for statewide piano journals, and has presented pedagogy workshops for the Arkansas Music Teachers Association, Georgia Music Teachers Association, Georgia Music Educators Association, and for the National Piano Teachers Institute in Dallas, Texas. A Fulbright Scholar, she participated, along with other faculty members from Andrew College and other institutions in the Southeast, in two month-long Fulbright-Hays Professional Development Seminars—in Taiwan and Thailand in 2001, and in 2004 as Project Director of the Seminar in Lithuania, Latvia, and Russia.

Nathaniel Allen

Before coming to Andrew College in August of 2004, Nathaniel “Al” Allen received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in painting from Michigan State University in 1991 and a Master of Fine Arts degree in painting from the University of Mississippi in 1995. As a graduate and adjunct instructor at Ole Miss, Mr. Allen taught introduction to art, beginning and advanced drawing courses and figure drawing. While living in Oxford, Mississippi, he also owned and operated ‘The Toybox,’ an art supply, toy and video store for two years.Mr. Allen has previously worked in several fields. He has served as a special education paraprofessional working with students with autism; program coordinator for Greater Lansing Artspace (in Lansing, Michigan); website production assistant; and commercial printer.
He has also previously taught at the Watkins College of Art and Design in Nashville and Volunteer State University in Gallatin, Tennessee. In addition to his educational work, Mr. Allen has created several commissioned murals and portraits and book illustrations as well as exhibiting works in Michigan, Tennessee, Mississippi and Alabama. He has also written, performed and produced original songs and designed a number of CD covers.

Vaughn Roste

Quickly making a name for himself on the Georgia choral scene, Vaughn Roste is Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Choral Studies at Andrew College, where in addition to overseeing the choral program he also teaches voice lessons, music theory, and conducting. His choirs are consistently known for their high musical standards and their excellent choral tone. He also serves as the Director of Music at First United Methodist Church in Eufaula, Alabama, where he supervises a choir school program of six different musical ensembles. Additionally, since 2005 he has volunteered to serve on the Executive Board of the Georgia American Choral Director’s Association.
Coming to Andrew College from Bainbridge College (GA), Vaughn Roste holds three degrees: a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Augustana University College, a Bachelor of Theological Studies from the Canadian Lutheran Bible Institute (both Lutheran-affiliated schools in Camrose, Alberta, Canada), and a Master of Music specializing in Choral Conducting from the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. He has sung with eight different professional choirs, most notably Pro Coro Canada and the choir of St. Andrew Presbyterian in Montreal, both of which makes regular radio appearances on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. The winner of more than 30 different awards and the composer of over a dozen compositions, he has set foot on every continent except Antarctica (and has lived on four of them). The author of over two dozen articles, he also saw in 2003 the publication of his first monograph, entitled The Xenophobe’s Guide to the Canadians, by Oval Books in London, England, which recently was translated into Estonian. 3

Austin recieved his Master of Fine Arts in Directing from The University of Arkansas in 2008 and his Bachelor of Arts in Speech from Louisiana Tech University in 1999. While at The University of Arkansas, Austin directed several main stage producitons and taught classes in stage combat. Prior to his masters, Austin lived in Los Angeles and Orange County for six years working in film, television, and theatre. While in the LA area Austin had the benefit of working with many well known actors and directors of both film and the theatre. He produced several theatrical productions, as well as designed lights and sets for the theatre.
Recently Austin completed his first feature film which is currently in post-produciton and scheduled for completion before the end of this year. After completion the film will begin the national festival circuit seeking recognitions and distribution.
