Welcome to the Andrew College Music Department!

We offer outstanding instruction and experience to student musicians interested in vocal and keyboard music.  Students can pursue studies in choral/vocal music or in piano or organ toward the Associate of Music degree, which transfers toward study toward bachelor’s degrees in any music field, and, depending upon their interests, may elect to work toward certificates in Church Music or in Musical Theatre as well. Students who do not choose to major in music may participate in the Music Department by performing with the Andrew College Choraliers or by studying applied music.  Any student who participates in the music program can receive a music scholarship.  Area churches often offer opportunities to our students for additional musical experience.

The Choraliers is Andrew’s premiere performing ensemble.  Students singing in the Choraliers hone their choral singing skills while learning and performing a wide range of Classical and contemporary repertoire both on and off campus.  On-campus performances include the Annual Festival of Christmas Lessons and Carols and the Spring Concert, and the group travels throughout the region several times a year to perform in United Methodist churches, particularly in the South Georgia Conference.  

Music is a challenging academic endeavor:  like other colleges, Andrew has a mix of music students who come to us with strong musical backgrounds and students with appreciable talent who enter college unaware of the rigors and expectations of college music study.   The Andrew College music faculty members dedicate themselves to the work of college freshmen and sophomores and to giving a level of individual attention not available everywhere – providing not only exceptional classroom and studio instruction but also exposure to the practice and study skills necessary for success as a college musician.  The Music Department is proud of the experience and skills we can give our students and of the successes our students while they are at Andrew and after they graduate.
