The Andrew College Division of Fine Arts offers the following degrees and certificates:

Associate of Arts in Theatre Arts
The theatre program at Andrew is open to all students by audition.  Previous theatre experience is a plus, but all students with a desire to perform onstage or work behind the scenes during shows are encouraged to contact the director of the program.  The theatre program is very active throughout the year, presenting comedy, drama, and musical performances each year.  Students are involved in all aspects of the theatre productions—scene design, acting, directing, and stage management.

Associate of Arts in Visual Arts

The Visual Art program offers hands-on experience in painting, drawing, and design.  Students are able to learn and develop new techniques and reach new heights of imagination.  Many student art works are reproduced in the Menagerie, the campus creative arts publication.  Art internships are available through the Albany Museum of Art and Columbus Museum of Art.  The Art Department and Student Arts League sponsor several gallery exhibitions throughout the year and are proud to present the Student Art Show each spring.

Associate of Music
Voice -
The Vocal Music Major offers student individual voice instruction and a wealth of solo performance opportunities.  Each voice major will participate in The Andrew College Choraliers, the flagship choir of Andrew College.  In addition to a liberal arts core and private voice instruction, the vocal music major includes studies in music theory and private piano leading to a strong foundation of musical skills.

The Choral Music Program offers students the opportunity to expand their vocal horizons by performing challenging music of various styles.  Our large ensemble, The Choraliers, represent Andrew College through on-campus and regional church performances throughout the academic year.  Scholarship opportunities are available to members of The Choraliers through audition.  Small ensembles are formed, depending on interest, to specialize in style-specific repertoire such as women's choir, men's choir, madrigal ensemble, and jazz choir.

Piano/Organ - The keyboard studies program offers students one-on-one experience with an accomplished teacher and pianist.  Numerous opportunities are afforded Andrew piano and organ students to perform as soloists as well as to play with the Choraliers, in campus chapel services, in local churches, and for various events in the area.  Students are able to greatly improve their keyboard skills and artistry under the guidance of the director of this program.

Associate of Arts in Journalism
Journalism - The journalism program allows students to jump right in to the production of a college newspaper and learn about layout, editing, writing, photography, and the responsibility of meeting deadlines.  This program is for students who have worked on their high school newspaper, have an interest in journalism, or just enjoy writing and photography and want to be a part of the team.

Yearbook - The yearbook program is an option for students who have experience with high-school yearbook production or who express an interest in the program.  Students are directly involved with all aspects of yearbook production with the guidance of the director of the program.  The Andranthus serves as a record of school activities during the year.  The students who work on the yearbook are famous for having a good time while planning the design, writing the copy, and selecting the most unusual photographs they can find.

Certificate of Church Music
The Church Music Certificate is available to degree-seeking students enrolled in any program of study at Andrew College as well as to area music church musicians who want to increase their church music knowledge and skills.  The Certificate is a nine-credit hour program---students take piano and/or voice lessons as well as courses in conducting, music and worship, and other worship-related topics, and participate in the Andrew College Choraliers, Unity Gospel Choir, or Praise Band.  Students who do not read music will also have the opportunity to enroll in a Music Fundamentals course before beginning the Church Music courses.  Beginning in Fall 2005, Andrew College students who enroll in the Church Music program but are not pursuing the Associate of Music degree may be eligible to receive a Church Music scholarship. Contact Susan Tusing at 229.732.5911 or susantusing@andrewcollege.edu for more information.

Certificate of Musical Theatre
The Certificate in Musical Theatre is an eight-hour certificate program designed to offer music and theatre majors at Andrew College further experience as well as documentation of additional work in musical theatre activities.  The hours earned for the Certificate could also be applied toward a Bachelor’s degree in Musical Theatre. Students may earn the Certificate in addition to either the Associate of Arts degree in Theatre Arts or the Associate of Music degree.

At Andrew, you can star in a theatre production, take the lead in the Choraliers, or paint a masterpiece for the student art show.
