WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

Andrew College recently announced the addition of Women's Basketball for the 2006-2007 academic year. The Lady Tigers will compete in Region XVII of the National Junior College Athletic Association. Basketball scholarships are available.

Women's Basketball News

Four Current Players Re-Sign to Play at Andrew College for Next Season:

Lauren Jones, a 5’5” guard, agreed to return for her sophomore season.  Lauren, who was primarily used as a defensive stopper, averaged 2.1 points and 2.1 rebounds per game.  Lauren is from Montezuma, Georgia and played her high school ball at Southland Academy.

Kristen Gable, a 5’9” forward signed her letter of intent to return to Andrew College for her sophomore season.  Kristen averaged 2.5 points and 2.2 rebounds per game.  Kristen is from Ten Mile, Tennessee.  She played her high school ball at Midway High School.

Amber Fountain, a 5’7’ forward, signed her letter of intent to return to Andrew College to play her sophomore season.  Amber averaged 2.9 points and 4.0 rebounds per game.  Amber is from Douglas, Georgia.  She played her high school ball at Citizens Christian Academy.

 

After scoring 22 points against Middle Georgia, Danielle Brooks was named to the GJCAA All-Tournament Basketball Team for 2008.

Keywanna Kendrick was named to the All-Region Basketball Team in the state of Georgia.  This is our first All-Region Basketball player since we resumed basketball.

Keywanna Kendrick was named Conference Co-Player of the Week for February  4-9.  Keywanna scored 28 points against conference rival Truett-McConnell on Saturday, February 9th. 

Keywanna continued her excellence with a 19 point, 15 rebound effort against ABAC – despite sitting out about half the game with foul trouble.
