Cory Cartwright - Randolph Southern HS, Shellman, GA
A local product from nearby Shellman, Cory looks to contribute on the mound for the Tigers. Cory is pegged to be the number one on his high school team this spring at Randolph Southern for Head Coach Todd West. Cory's large frame has the Andrew staff excited about his mid eighties fastball. Cory has a big upside and looks to be a major part of a great recruiting class on the mound for Coach Hemmings.
Paul Cheeks - South Effingham HS, Guyton, GA
Paul is a left handed hitting outfielder who will hold down the vacated right field spot for the Tigers next season. Paul brings a hard nosed mentality with him from South Effingham as well as a .400 plus batting average during his junior season. South Effingham's Head Coach Tony Kirkland has prepared Paul well for the college game and the Tigers are excited about having Paul for the next two years.
Justin Fogt - Northside HS, Fortson, GA
A utility player, and all around great athlete, Justin will be moving on from Russell Henderson's Northside program located in North Columbus. Justin will see time in the outfield and at second base for Coach Henderson this season. Coach Hemmings will likely look to use Justin in the same versatile role with the Tigers. Justin will be a 2 year starter at Northside and looks to build on a fine junior campaign. Justin also brings a lot of speed to the Tiger offense as he projects as a leadoff type hitter.
George Grote - Newnan HS, Newnan, GA
George Grote looks to step in immediately and land in the rotation for the Tigers in 2008. A left hander sporting a mid eighties fastball and the ability to locate two other pitches, George comes in ready to contribute immediately. Coach Kenny Morris at Newnan High School continues to develop college ready baseball players like George, a gritty competitor, student of the game, and a perfect fit for the Andrew College baseball program.
Thomas Grote - Newnan HS, Newnan, GA
Another Kenny Morris product out of Newnan High School, Coach Hemmings gets exactly what he was looking for in Thomas Grote. Thomas is a sure handed, defense first player who should be able to play three infield positions next season. Joining his twin brother, Thomas looks to make a smooth transition onto the Andrew College roster next season.
Chris Reynolds - Paulding County HS, Dallas, GA
Another multi talented athlete, Chris Reynolds is a huge find for the Andrew College coaching staff. Chris, a standout high school shortstop for Coach Ryan Zaideman looks to bring his versatility to the Andrew lineup next season. With the ability to play both left side infield positions, Chris looks to step in right away. Another big and strong player, and scholar, the Tigers are getting a quality player and person in Chris.
Jonathan Sholar - Northgate HS, Newnan, GA
Big and strong, Jonathan Sholar looks to be a mainstay in the Andrew College line-up for the next two seasons. Jonathan will spend his senior season at Northgate High School after spending his first three seasons at Whitewater High. A superb scholar-athlete, Jonathan will see time at first base, in the outfield, and behind the plate for the Tigers in 2008. You can count on Jonathan hitting in the 3 or 4 hole for Coach Hemmings' offense the next two years.
Cody Williams - Toombs County HS, Reidsville, GA
Cody Williams, a loose and lanky right handed pitcher out of Toombs County High School is a huge sign for the Tigers. The continued commitment to quality arms helped the Tigers land Cody who has been clocked as high as 90 mph as he prepares for his senior season. A legitimate candidate for the front of the rotation, the Tigers are excited about bringing Cody on board.
Kiefer Youmans - South Effingham HS, Guyton, GA
Another phenomenal athlete, the Tigers signing of Kiefer Youmans continues the commitment to replace the whole outfield they are losing to graduation at the end of the 2007 season. Kiefer, who banged 5 home runs for Coach Tony Kirkland as a junior, looks to have another standout season. Kiefer looks to use his plus speed and large frame to man Andrew College's spacious centerfield right away. |
