Athletic Training

Athletic training is a growing allied health profession dealing with the prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation of injuries to the physically active. To become an athletic trainer, one needs to:

  • be admitted into an accredited athletic training program
  • graduate with a bachelor’s degree
  • pass the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification examination and
  • comply with state athletic training laws

How does a two-year, liberal arts college fit into the plans to become a certified athletic trainer, if it requires a bachelor’s degree?

  1. Andrew College can provide hands-on practical experience for you, while preparing you to enter into a four-year school’s athletic training program.
  2. Andrew College also provides classroom knowledge to get a firm foundation to enter an accredited athletic training program.
  3. You would have the opportunity to get experience working with college-level men’s and women’s soccer, baseball, softball and men’s golf.  Also, experience with working with Randolph-Clay high school football is available.
