AndrewServes has a positive impact on lives in Southwest Georgia

AndrewServes is working with the Georgia Department of Transportation Adopt-A-Highway Program to help keep Randolph County beautiful. The AndrewServes adopted a mile on Route 50, which is located a couple of miles from the college. In November, AndrewServes spent a couple hours cleaning up the debris and miscellaneous items that were left on the highway. The students were productive and collected over eleven bags of garbage. The AndrewServes Program is continuing in their mission of making Cuthbert a more beautiful and clean place to live.
In December, the servant leaders spent the afternoon at the Joanne Burgin Nursing Home in Cuthbert. The students spent the week decorating personalized homemade Christmas cards for the seventy-five plus elderly residents. Each AndrewServes student made cards for four different residents and personally delivered them to their rooms. The elderly were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed receiving the cards as much as the students enjoyed making the cards. We currently have AndrewServes students who volunteer their time with the nursing home throughout the year.
In addition to participation in these activities, AndrewServes students have also been volunteering through the Southwest Georgia Medical Center, Randolph County Elementary School, One on One tutoring, The Millennium Center, First Baptist Church of Cuthbert, and the Cuthbert Chamber of Commerce.
