AndrewServes attends 13th Annual Georgia Collegiate Leadership Conference
The AndrewServes Servant Leadership Program attended the GCLC leadership conference at the University of Georgia in Athens on February 7th 2009. Three of our students competed in the 7th annual Case Study Competition and earned accolades for their exceptional performance. The AndrewServes servant leaders formed a team, which consisted of sophomore Stephen Walker, sophomore Amber White, and freshman Keyla Reyes. They were tested on their critical thinking skills, resourcefulness, and ability to work as a team. In addition, the judges assessed their team on knowledge of effective leadership and their presentation skills. The competition was among thirteen other colleges who attended the conference, and Andrew College came in 2nd place, winning a prize of $200. The keynote speaker was Joshua Fredenburg, who works to impact the lives of emerging leaders nationally through motivational speeches and empowering students to make a positive impact in the world. The students attended four sessions throughout the day, which consisted of invaluable information to help them become future leaders of their generation. The GCLC conference is held each year to teach servant leaders how to define their leadership signature style, plan volunteer activities, how to successfully network,
and to advance their personal and professional development as a leader.
